Ladies & Gentlemen,

Just a polite reminder that MRI Safety Week, which occurs every year around the anniversary of the Colombini fatality, starts in 3 weeks.

This year, MRI Safety Week begins on Monday, July 26, and runs through Sunday, August 1st.

If you've not done anything in honor of MRI Safety Week before, or are simply fishing for new ideas, here are a few popular activities...

  • MR staff safety training or knowledge quizzes
  • Annual Quench Pipe inspection
  • Firefighter / emergency responder coordination
  • training for ER / code team
  • Introduce your risk-management, compliance and quality staff to MRI safety
  • Lay-person MRI safety quizzes
  • Review your MRI safety Policies & Procedures
  • Assess your MRI suite for safety protections
  • Ancillary staff such as transporters, anesthesia, respiratory, security, etc... review MR safety DVD
  • Info table, staffed by MR Techs, to answer questions

If anyone else has suggestions of MRI Safety Week activities, please share them with the group.

Please take this special opportunity to reinforce the importance of safe MR practices to your co-workers, non-MR colleagues, and visitors. Google MRI Safety Week for other resources and ideas.

Tobias
