Partners Radiology’s mission is “to improve the quality and efficiency of patient care, education and research at Partners HealthCare institutions through collaboration that adds value to member organizations.” In order to support those priorities, Partners Radiology has both a Research and an Education Committee.
The goal of the Partners Radiology Research Committee is to promote radiology-related research activities, encouraging collaboration between junior and senior researchers across Partners institutions, and drawing attention to the resources available to researchers throughout Partners.

On Friday February 26, 2010 the 2010 Partners Radiology Research & Education Retreat took place at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School. The topics focused on promoting radiology-related research activities, encouraging collaboration between junior and senior researchers across Partners institutions, and drawing attention to the resources for researchers throughout Partners. The event demonstrated the importance of collaboration between MGH and BWH radiology researchers and highlighted the accomplishments over the years from a number of researchers including the keynote speaker, Bruce Rosen, MD, Professor in Radiology at Harvard Medical School, Director of Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, and a member of the Department of Radiology, Massachusetts General Hospital. Scott Gazelle, MD, MPH, PhD, provided an update on the research efforts and research funding for Partners Radiology. There were presentations from trainee researchers, the 2009 Partners Radiology Award Winner, and the 2010 Partners Radiology Award Winner. A panel of established researchers including Fiona Fennessy, MD, PhD; Randy Gollub; Bruce Rosen, MD; Steven Seltzer, MD; James Thrall, MD; and Martin Torriani, MD; led discussions around current radiology hot topics and the future of radiology. We would like to thank everyone who made this such an informative and worthwhile event!
