Partners Radiology formed a team to address the variation found in CT contrast policies and procedures. Over the course of the project, forms and administration guidelines were standardized. All of the hospitals now classify contrast reactions according to the American College of Radiology’s (ACR) classification, and current phases of the project include reporting on contrast reactions for MR and other diagnostic procedures. As patient safety and quality continue to be key issues in healthcare, Partners Radiology continually responds to the challenge by looking for additional ways to provide safer and higher quality patient care.
